ECOP Congresses
FEPS Congresses
The European Congresses of Protistology (ECOP) are the most visible activities of FEPS.
As one of the largest congresses in Europe dealing with all aspects of protists biology (from molecular to ecological topics) and featuring up to approx. 400 attendees, the ECOP Congresses provide a platform for international scientific exchange and showcase the newest scientific achievements in the many and diverse fields of protistology. The Congress comprises plenary lectures presented by outstanding scientists, a range of subject-specific symposia to provide the latest updates in different areas of protists research, extensive poster communications, and other activities (e.g. arts and science). The Congress is held each four years in countries that have a Constituent Society of FEPS.
Some ECOP congresses were held jointly with the European Conference on Ciliate Biology.
VII ECOP – A JOINT MEETING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ISOP
The 2015 VII ECOP Congress was held in Seville (Spain) early September 2015 (September 5 to 10), hosted by the Specialized Group of Protistology (Grupo Especializado de Protistología, GEP) of the Spanish Society of Microbiology (SEM). Congress venues were at the Hotel-Conference Center Silken Al-Andalus Palace and the Scientific Campus “Reina Mercedes” of the University of Seville.
The VII ECOP congress was organized for the first time as a joint meeting in partnership with The International Society of Protistologists (ISOP).
